Robert Butters

Chief Mate at Diamond Offshore

Robert Butters has 20 years of work experience in the maritime industry. Robert started their career in 2001 with the United States Coast Guard as a Quartermaster and Boatswain Mate. In 2008, they joined Diamond Offshore and held various positions including Ballast Control Operator, Dynamic Positioning Officer, Senior Dynamic Positioning Officer, Marine Section Leader, and currently serves as the Chief Mate since 2022.

Robert Butters attended the Maine Maritime Academy from 2005 to 2008, where they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Marine Transportation Operations. In addition to their degree, they have received certifications such as Master - Unlimited from the United States Coast Guard and Republic of the Marshall Islands, Offshore Installation Manager from the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Dynamic Positioning Operator from the Nautical Institute in 2011.
