Michael Howerton

Michael Howerton has held various roles throughout their work experience. Michael started their career as a Managing Editor at Contently, where they managed and edited online and print publications. Michael then moved on to become the Editor in Chief at 1World Online, where they directed content creation and managed the editorial team. Additionally, they worked as an Instructor at UC Berkeley and as an Editor, Writer, and Strategist at NewsHouse. Michael also served as a columnist focused on United States politics at Diario El Universal. Michael has held positions at San Francisco Examiner, San Francisco Media Company, and the City and County of San Francisco. Michael'smost recent role is as the Editorial Director at The diaTribe Foundation.

Michael Howerton has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from UCLA, which they obtained from 1993 to 1996. Michael later pursued a Master of Science degree in Journalism at Columbia University - Graduate School of Journalism from 1998 to 1999. In 2010 to 2011, they attended San Francisco State University to pursue a Master of Arts degree in English Composition.
