Senior CS Engineer at Diffblue

Peter Sear has had a diverse and extensive work experience. Peter started their career as a Sales Engineer at Katakana Ltd in 1989, and then worked as a Support Team Leader at Miles 33 from 1990 to 1995.

Peter joined Sun Microsystems in 1995, where they initially served as a Lead Support Engineer, providing backline customer support and acting as the Product Responsible Engineer for Solaris OS printing solutions, Sun client terminals, and servers. Peter also conducted internal training, mentoring, and documentation, as well as customer site visits during this role.

In 1999, Peter transitioned to the role of Solaris Sustaining Engineer at Sun Microsystems. Peter investigated and resolved customer-escalated Solaris printing and utility bug reports, and became a worldwide expert in Solaris printing solutions. Peter managed the release of patches and provided training and mentoring to colleagues. Peter continued in this role until 2010.

Following their time at Sun Microsystems, Peter joined Oracle as a Senior Solaris Sustaining Engineer in 2010. Peter was responsible for investigating and resolving customer-escalated name services and network utility bug reports, as well as working on project development for future releases of Solaris. Peter utilized programming languages such as C and scripting languages including bash, ksh, sh, and csh. Peter left Oracle in 2016.

In 2018, they joined Diffblue as a Product Support Engineer before being promoted to the role of Senior CX Engineer in October 2020. Peter'scurrent role involves further enhancing customer experience and providing technical expertise in customer support.

Peter Sear attained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) with Honors degree in Physics with Applied Physics from the University of Bath, where they studied from 1983 to 1987.
