John McConnell

John McConnell is a seasoned software engineering professional with extensive experience in managing engineering teams and developing innovative software solutions. Currently serving as Sr. Manager of Engineering at Digimarc since July 2022, John oversees teams focused on watermarking detection SDKs and mobile applications for iOS and Android. Prior experience includes significant roles at Datalogic, where John contributed from October 1998 to July 2022, advancing from Senior Software Engineer to Software Engineering Manager, leading efforts in mobile computing applications and embedded devices. Earlier positions include Senior Software Engineer at First Tracks, Inc. and a role at the University of Oregon in scientific software development. John holds a Master’s degree in Software Engineering from Portland State University, a Master of Science in Physical Chemistry from the University of Oregon, and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from the University of Arizona.
