João Sá Sousa

João Sá Sousa is currently employed as a Systems and Security Researcher at Digital Asset since April 2022. Prior to this role, João served as a Security/Privacy Software Engineer at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne from April 2016 to December 2021, contributing to the development of software tools for secure data sharing. An internship at Carnegie Mellon University in late 2015 focused on enhancing privacy in Android-based systems and resulted in a publication. Additionally, João was a researcher at Universidade de Coimbra from October 2013 to September 2015, where efforts were directed towards advancing physical-layer security for wireless networks. Academic qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Informatics and a Bachelor’s Degree in Informatics from Universidade de Coimbra, as well as experience as an Erasmus student at the University of Bern. Early education was completed at Escola Secundária Quinta das Flores and Conservatório de Música de Coimbra.
