Jian Yang currently serves as the Director of Industry HDR Program at Digital Finance CRC since July 2023 and holds an executive position at The Computing Research and Education Association of Australasia (CORE) since February 2019. As a Professor at Macquarie University since January 2011, Jian Yang has taken on roles as the Director of Research and Deputy Director of the Applied AI Research Centre, as well as being a steering committee member of the Macquarie DataX Research Centre. Previous academic positions include Associate Professor and Assistant Professor at Tilburg University and Senior Research Scientist at CSIRO, with an early career as a Lecturer at UNSW Canberra at ADFA. Jian Yang's research interests encompass data analytics, machine learning, data integration, business process management, and service computing. Educationally, Jian Yang obtained a PhD in Computer Science from The Australian National University from 1990 to 1995.
