Nancy Carter

Nancy Carter has a diverse work experience spanning several organizations and roles. Nancy is currently serving as the Vice President of Legal and Corporate Governance at CANARIE since January 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Chief Financial Officer at CANARIE from April 2007 to January 2022, where they were responsible for the financial integrity and reliability of financial and operating results, as well as the organization's governance. Before their CFO role, Nancy held various finance positions at CANARIE from October 1997 to April 2007.

In addition to their work at CANARIE, Nancy is also a member of the Board of Directors at Ontario Genomics, where they began serving in October 2022. Nancy has also been actively involved in ARIN, where they have served as the Chair of the Finance Committee, member of the Compensation Committee and Governance Committee since January 2020. Prior to this, they served as a member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer of ARIN from January 2018 to the present. Nancy Carter's education history includes several notable achievements. Nancy obtained a Business Diploma in Accounting from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology between the years 1976 and 1979. Following this, they pursued further education and completed a degree in Financial Management from the same institution in 1992. Nancy then enrolled at the University of Ottawa where they earned a CGA (Certified General Accountant) degree with a specialization in accounting in 1997. Nancy'seducational journey continued at the University of Ottawa, where they obtained a JD (Juris Doctor) degree in 2012, specializing in Law and Technology.
