Tyron Young

Senior Manager of Research & Development at Digital Promise

Tyron joins the Digital Promise team with university and K-12 math and science experience. He has taught in traditional and experiential K–12 settings in public and private schools in Atlanta, Chicago, New York City, and Los Angeles. He has researched learning, cognition, and emotional processes in K-12 Math and Science classrooms and after-school settings. His most recent research areas have looked into mind wandering and machine learning. In addition to his service as an educator and researcher, he has served on various boards for charter management organizations and community service organizations.

Tyron is a supporter of innovative schools and districts, having attended The Baraka School in Laikipia, Kenya, East Africa (2001-2003) through the innovation of Baltimore City Public Schools.

Tyron’s current role with Digital Promise as a Senior Manager for Research and Development in the Center for Inclusive Innovation combines his research knowledge and classroom experiences to help push innovative thinking across research, practice, and technology.
