Ian Burke

Ian Burke has extensive work experience in the space-based technology industry. Starting in 1994, they worked as a System Engineer at MDA, where they were responsible for system engineering on government ground station projects and mission-level system engineering for European Space Agency future mission studies. In 2004, they joined DigitalGlobe as a Lead System Engineer for the Direct Access Program, where they developed the technical solution for the program and guided its development. Ian then transitioned into Project and Program Manager roles, overseeing ground station deliveries and leading an engineering team. In 2016, they became the Sales Director for Defense and Intelligence Programs at DigitalGlobe, handling sales and marketing for government accounts in the Asia Pacific region. Currently, Ian serves as the Sales Director for Strategic International Programs in Asia Pacific at Maxar Technologies, where they deliver integrated capabilities in Earth imagery, geospatial data, analytics, insights, satellites, and robotics.

Ian Burke completed their Bachelor of Applied Science degree in Engineering Physics at The University of British Columbia from 1986 to 1991. Ian then pursued their Master of Science degree in Physics at the same institution from 1991 to 1993.
