Ghazal Niazi

Ghazal Niazi serves as Associate General Counsel and Head of Privacy, Security, and AI at DigitalOcean since September 2023. Previously, Niazi held the position of Product Counsel for Crypto and Fintech at Block, providing legal guidance on financial services and regulatory compliance. Prior to that, Niazi was Lead Product Counsel for Crypto at Meta, focusing on privacy risks and compliance within a cryptocurrency mobile wallet initiative. Niazi's career also includes a role as AI Product Counsel at Amazon Web Services, where counseling on AI/ML products and drafting legal documents were key responsibilities. Niazi's legal experience began with various externships and clerkships, including work with the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California and the California Department of Justice. Niazi holds an LLM in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, a JD in Corporate Law from Golden Gate University, and a BA with Honors in Psychology and Political Science from UC San Diego.
