Binu Pillai

Binu Pillai has extensive work experience in the software engineering industry. Binu started their career at CDIT-IKM as a Software Engineer in 1999 and then moved on to First American Financial Corporation, where they served as a Module Lead from 2003 to 2007. Binu then joined Unisys India as a Team Lead from 2007 to 2011. Their responsibilities included managing teams and leading projects.

In 2011, Binu joined EFI as a Senior Manager, IDC Engineering. At EFI, they were responsible for managing quarterly releases for the Digital Storefront Application, as well as designing and implementing various projects. Binu played a key role in optimizing the application to make it scalable.

From 2017 to 2020, Binu worked at Galvanize as a Senior R&D Manager, where they continued to gain expertise in managing teams and overseeing research and development projects.

Currently, Binu has been working at Diligent since 2020. Binu first served as the Director of R&D and then took on the role of VP of Engineering & India site lead. Diligent is a leading governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) SaaS company, serving customers worldwide. Binu's role at Diligent involves leading and managing engineering teams and overseeing the development of innovative technology for governance, risk, compliance, and ESG.

Throughout their career, Binu has gained valuable experience in various aspects of software engineering, including team management, project leadership, and application optimization.

Binu Pillai obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Software Technology (PGDST) from NCST in 1998-1999. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from N.S.S College of Engineering from 1993-1997. In terms of additional certifications, they received the CSM® certification from Scrum Alliance in 2017. Binu also obtained certifications in Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate and PMP® from Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Project Management Institute, respectively, although the specific years of completion are not provided.
