Mark Balmer

Mark Balmer began their career in 1983 as the HR Controller for Somerfield Stores, where they stayed until 2006. In this role, they were responsible for managing HR operations and overseeing various corporate projects. Mark then joined Somerfield as the Regional HR Controller for the East of England Region, where they led a team of 11 HR specialists and supported day-to-day HR operations. Mark then moved to AXA / Friends Life in 2007, where they worked as a Senior HR Business Partner, providing strategic HR support for the Finance, Tax, Risk, and Investments departments. Mark stayed with AXA until September 2010 when Friends acquired the Life Business. Mark is currently working at Diligenta as the Head of Resourcing, leading the HRBP team and managing various third-party relationships.

Mark Balmer attended Poole Grammar School from 1976 to 1982, where they obtained O-levels and A-levels. Mark then pursued higher education at Bournemouth University from 1998 to 2001, completing a Master's Degree in Human Resource Management.
