Alan Turnley Jones

Alan Turnley Jones is the CEO of Dimension Data, a leading provider of technology solutions and services. Alan has over 25 years of experience in the IT industry, specializing in service delivery and transformation.

Jones began their career at Dimension Data in October 2013 as the Group Principal Director of Service Delivery. In this role, they were responsible for driving efficiencies and effectiveness of service operations across all five operating regions of Dimension Data. Alan also oversaw the interface of service operations on a global basis and led a number of strategic transformation programmes focused on accelerating services, improving global delivery and shaping the delivery organisational model.

In May 2016, Jones was promoted to Executive : Services, where they were responsible for the services business across Middle East and Africa. In this role, they focused on transforming the services business to drive new ways of working through the adoption of automation, dev/ops and platform led remote services.

Jones has been instrumental in driving profitable growth for Dimension Data. Under their leadership, the company has seen significant expansion in its service offerings, client base and geographical reach. Alan is a respected thought leader in the IT industry and is frequently invited to speak at major conferences and events.

Alan Turnley Jones has a background in electrical engineering from the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. After working in the field for a few years, they decided to pursue a career in leadership development and enrolled in the Dimension Data Group Leadership Development Programme at the Gordon Institute of Business Science. After completing the programme, they were accepted into the Accelerated Development Programme at the Graduate School of Business - University of Cape Town. Upon completing their studies, they obtained certification from The Institute of Directors in South Africa in Corporate Governance and Board Effectiveness and from Scaled Agile, Inc. in SAFe 4 Certified Agilist.
