Joe Connolly's work experience began in 2011 as an Engineering Intern at Mammotome. In 2012, they worked as a Product Development R&D Intern at Covidien, where they created a patented design for an echogenic tumor microwave/RF ablation probe.

In 2013, Joe joined Boston Scientific as an Exploratory R&D Intern, where they identified and evaluated potential adjacent disease states and created a clinical trial plan for renal denervation. Joe later became an R&D Engineer II, contributing to business development opportunities and generating strategies for implementing products in new disease states. Joe was also a Senior R&D Engineer, leading a disease-focused team and collaborating with the NHS in the UK on reorganizing the ulcer service line.

In 2019, Joe co-founded and became the CEO of Visana Health, a company that offers comprehensive clinical care for various women's health conditions. Joe aimed to provide the care model they wished their mother had access to for their endometriosis.

In 2021, Joe became a Founding Member and Steering Committee member at IMPACT, the Virtual-First Medical Practice Collaboration hosted by the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe) and the American Telemedicine Association (ATA). IMPACT aims to enable expanded access to high-quality virtual first care.
