Joshua Trupin

Research VP at Directions on Microsoft

Joshua Trupin has a diverse work experience spanning across various industries. Joshua started their career as an intern in the Sports Information Department at Yale University in 1984. Afterwards, they worked as a freelance author for "HoopStats: The Basketball Abstract" in 1988. From 1990 to 1993, Trupin was a software developer at InterContinental Hotels, where they developed the Global II worldwide hotel reservation system and architectured back-office hotel group solutions. Joshua then moved on to work as a freelance author and columnist for Microsoft Systems Journal from 1992 to 1996, writing articles on Visual Basic, source management systems, Borland Delphi, and Internet programming. From 1993 to 1996, Trupin worked as a software developer at Hyperion, where they developed enterprise performance management software and a Web-based live-data analysis tool. At Microsoft, Trupin held multiple roles starting in 1996, including Executive Editor and Sr. Technical Editor for MSDN Magazine and TechNet Magazine, where they managed a team responsible for content design, acquisition, and publication. Joshua also worked as a Sr. Application Development Manager and Technical Account Manager, managing relationships with enterprise/ISV customers, mentoring peers, and achieving double-digit growth. Finally, since 2015, Trupin has been a Research VP at Directions on Microsoft, where they continue to contribute their expertise. Throughout their career, Trupin has received recognition for customer satisfaction and delivery innovation, and has authored numerous articles and a book.

Joshua Trupin attended Yale University from 1984 to 1988, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a focus on Computer Science.
