Stefano Gnan has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific and informatic fields since 2008. In 2008, they were a Trainee at the University of Bologna. In 2010, they were a Graduate Trainee at the University of Bologna and an Erasmus Placement Student at the Institute des Neurosciences de Montpellier. In 2011, they were a Da Vinci Student at the Babraham Institute. From 2012 to 2016, they were a PhD student and co-organized the 15th EMBL PhD Symposium at the EMBL. From 2016 to 2018, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Edinburgh. Since 2018, they have been a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Institut Curie - Research Centre, where they have been responsible for data analysis of NGS Replication Timing data and developing a pipeline to analyze single-cell replication timing data. In 2022, they began working as an Informatic and Scientific Project Manager at Discngine.
Stefano Gnan obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Cell/Cellular and Molecular Biology from Heidelberg University between 2012 and 2016. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's degree in Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna between 2008 and 2011. Stefano also obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna between 2005 and 2008. Additionally, Gnan has obtained certifications from DataCamp, Edinburgh Genomics, and Coursera, including a Data Analyst with R Track, R Programmer Track, Data Analyst with Python Track, Data manipulation and visualization with python, Exploratory Data Analysis, Introduction to ChIP-seq data analysis and visualisation using Ensembl, Python Programmer Track, and R Programming.
