Rui Zhang

Rui Zhang is a Senior Software Engineer with extensive experience in data platforms and software engineering. Currently at Discord since July 2022, Rui Zhang has made significant contributions to the legacy data transformation framework, enhancing data materialization efficiency, and played a pivotal role in migrating the legacy ELT pipeline to a new in-house framework using Dagster and DBT. Prior to Discord, Rui Zhang worked at Zuora from October 2016 to July 2022, collaborating on mission-critical projects and delivering essential components under the guidance of senior leadership. Rui Zhang's career began at Intuit from March 2015 to October 2016 as a Software Engineer II, where an initiative for a Database Sharding project was launched. Academic credentials include a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Engineering in Software Engineering, both from Northeastern University.
