Gary Desai

Gary Desai has a strong background in information technology and has held various executive positions throughout their career. Gary recently joined Discount Tire as the Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to that, they worked as an Information Technology Consultant at Private Equity Consulting from 2018 to 2019. From 2014 to 2018, they served as the Senior Vice President and CIO of the Icahn Automotive Group at Federal Mogul Motorparts, Autoplus, and Pep Boys. Gary also held leadership roles at Honeywell Information Systems and General Motors Corporation, where they served as the VP and CIO of the Consumer Products Group and held positions as the Director of IT - Purchasing Systems and CIO at Allison Transmission. Overall, their work experience spans over two decades in the IT industry, showcasing their expertise in managing and leading technology initiatives.

Gary Desai earned an MBA in Information Systems from the D'Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University from 1982 to 1984. Prior to that, they completed a B-tech in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, from 1977 to 1982. Gary also obtained the NACD Directorship Certification® from the NACD (National Association of Corporate Directors) in December 2023.
