Candace Carter

Candace Carter serves as the Director & Senior Counsel for International Enterprise Privacy, Data Protection, and Cybersecurity at Discover Financial Services since January 2023, overseeing global privacy and cybersecurity regulations. Previously, Candace held the position of Divisional General Counsel, Chief Compliance Officer, and Audit at United Consumer Financial Services, leading legal, compliance, and audit teams globally and serving as Vice President of the Board of Directors across multiple countries. Earlier roles include Vice President and Audit Senior Manager at PNC, Vice President and Enterprise Compliance Programs Manager at KeyBank, and Vice President and Legal Counsel at New York Community Bank. Candace began a legal career at Roetzel & Andress, starting as a Summer Associate and later becoming Attorney/Counsel, and has also managed multiple branches at US Bank. Candace holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Akron School of Law, a B.A. in Business Management and Marketing from Capital University, and has attended ABA National Compliance School.
