Navid Sakhavand

Navid Sakhavand is a seasoned data science professional with extensive experience in leadership roles. Currently serving as the Senior Manager of Data Science at Discover Financial Services since April 2023, Navid has successfully grown a team of six data scientists and implemented strategies to enhance personal loan origination through data-driven initiatives. Prior to this role, Navid spent eight years at JPMorgan Chase & Co. as a Data Science Director, where responsibilities included leading a diverse team to develop competitive intelligence solutions and influencing C-level executives with data insights. Navid also contributed to the Rice Center for Engineering Leadership as a Graduate Committee Member and Treasurer. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. in Engineering from Rice University and an MS in Engineering from The University of New Mexico.
