Karen Gallagher-Burt MSW is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in social work and community engagement. Currently serving as the Director of Strategy and Engagement at Distress Centre Calgary since March 2022, Karen has also held roles as a Marriage Commissioner since November 2019 and as a facilitator for the Alberta Impaired Driving Program since October 2011. Previous positions include Director of Philanthropy and Stewardship at the Canadian Mental Health Association and Executive Director of the Hillhurst Sunnyside Community Association. Karen's background includes significant involvement in volunteer management and community outreach, highlighted by impactful roles at Distress Centre Calgary and the United Way of Calgary and Area. With a strong educational foundation in social work, Karen has been dedicated to supporting individuals and families through various crises throughout a career that spans more than three decades.
