Senior Project Manager at Distributed Solar Development

Xavier Garcia has extensive experience in project management and construction, particularly in the renewable energy sector. Xavier is currently working as a Senior Project Manager at DSD Renewables, where they oversee large-scale commercial and industrial photovoltaic (PV) projects, including rooftop, ground mounted systems, battery storage, and garage canopies. One of their notable projects includes managing the construction of the world's largest multicampus solar + storage installation at the Bishop Ranch Business Park in San Ramon, CA.

Prior to their current role, Xavier worked as a Senior Project Manager at Sun Light & Power, where they managed multiple commercial solar PV, solar hot water, carport, EV charger, and battery storage projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. Xavier was responsible for overseeing all project stages, including design, permitting, procurement, construction, commissioning, and interconnection.

Xavier also gained experience as a Project Manager at SunPower Corporation, where they managed day-to-day operations on construction sites and was involved in designing solar power plants for the company's Chile and Mexico portfolios. Xavier worked on the Solar Power project for the Target Corporation, overseeing scheduling, coordinating material deliveries, and ensuring on-time delivery.

Prior to this, Xavier worked as a Field Engineer at NEXTracker, Inc, where they provided project management and solar field support for domestic and international solar power facilities. Xavier supervised the operations of a large-scale solar field in Honduras and led several smaller domestic projects in the US.

Xavier's earlier experience includes working as a Construction Manager at Legacy Construction, where they were responsible for maintaining medical site facilities and residential properties. Xavier also worked as a Project Manager at Generalitat de Catalunya, overseeing irrigation projects, civil projects, urban planning, and rural development.

Additionally, Xavier worked as a Project Manager at AUDINGINTRAESA, S.A., where they managed a large-scale irrigation system project in eastern Spain and handled budgeting, permitting, regulation control, and environmental impact. Prior to that, they worked as a Project Manager at MAETEL, where they managed new electrical lines and provided environmental consulting for high voltage lines in Spain, focusing on energy efficiency, low environmental impact, and compensation to landowners.

Xavier began their career as an Environmental Engineer with Ferrovial.

Xavier Garcia has a Master's Degree in Agricultural Engineering from the Universitat de Lleida, which they obtained in 2005. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's Degree in Forestry Engineering from the same university in 2001. In 2014, Xavier completed a program called Business English for International Students at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, they have taken some courses in the Department of Agriculture at the University of Lleida. Xavier also holds two diplomas, one in Wastewater Treatment Sp. from Euroinnova and another in OHSAS 18001 from the same institution. Xavier has completed an Official Teaching Course called CAP from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. In 2016, Xavier completed a certification in OSHA 30 from Turner Safety, San Leandro (CA).
