Michael McCourt

Michael McCourt is a seasoned professional in the field of applied mathematics with extensive experience in machine learning and engineering. As Co-Founder and CTO at Distributional since August 2023, Michael focuses on developing offline validation tools for ML applications. Prior to this role, Michael served as Head of Engineering at SigOpt from August 2015 to July 2023, leading a team dedicated to empowering users in creating predictive and analytic models across various industries including finance, banking, and manufacturing. Michael's prior positions include Head of Research and Research Engineer at the University of Colorado Denver, as well as a Visiting Assistant Professor at Argonne National Laboratory and Graduate Research Associate. Academic credentials include a PhD and MS in Applied Mathematics from Cornell University, and a BS in Applied Mathematics from Illinois Institute of Technology.
