Amara Rajie has a diverse work experience in the retail industry. Amara is currently working at divbrands as the Head of Merchandising & Product Development since May 2021. Prior to this, they were the Head of Buying, Sourcing, QA & Tech at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd - Pantaloons from January 2019 to February 2021. Amara'sprevious experience includes roles at Woolworths, where they served as Buying & Design Group Head for Womanswear, Footwear & Accessories from April 2015 to October 2018, and as a Buying Manager for Womanswear from July 2013 to March 2015. Amara also worked as a Divisional Buying Manager at Edcon from February 2012 to June 2013. Earlier in their career, they held positions at Woolworths as Buying Manager Lingerie from December 2010 to January 2012, and as Sourcing Manager Lingerie from April 2008 to November 2010.

Amara Rajie's education history begins in 1996 when they attended Cape Peninsula University of Technology, where they studied Marketing. Amara completed their studies in 1998. In 2011, Amara Rajie participated in a Management Development Program at Stellenbosch University/Universiteit Stellenbosch (USB). Amara then went on to attend China Europe International Business School (CEIBS) in 2014 for their International Leadership Program. In the same year, they also attended GIBS Business School (Gordon Institute of Business Science) for their International Leadership Program. Finally, Amara Rajie completed their education at Babson F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business in 2017, where they focused on Strategic Planning & Management in Retail.
