Allyse Birken

Allyse Birken is a Senior Materials and Process Engineer at Divergent, with a strong background in additive manufacturing and materials engineering. From July 2021, positions included Additive Manufacturing Development Engineer and Additive Manufacturing Engineer. Prior experience includes serving as President and Lead Materials Specialist for Cal Poly Racing, where responsibilities encompassed materials selection and subsystem leadership for composites, metals, and polymers. Allyse has held internship roles at The Spaceship Company, focusing on avionics design, as well as mechanical engineering internships at AndyMark Inc., where skills in Solidworks and manufacturing processes were applied. Allyse’s educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering from California Polytechnic State University and ongoing studies for a Master of Science in Applied Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering.
