Nadia Jamil has extensive experience in research and community-based roles. Nadia'smost recent position is as the Research and Community Lead at Dixon Hall since July 2021. Prior to this, they were the Community-Based Research Lead at Scarborough Centre for Healthy Communities from November 2020 to July 2021. Nadia also worked as a Project Coordinator at St. Stephen's Community House on a short-term contract from September 2020 to November 2020. Nadia took a break from work from January 2019 to August 2020 for parental leave.
Before their break, they worked as the Principal Investigator for the Innovative Solutions to Homelessness Project at Dixon Hall from January 2018 to December 2018. Nadia conducted community-based research on the needs of individuals using the Out of the Cold program in Toronto. Prior to that, they worked as a Senior Research Consultant for Malton Neighbourhood Services from August 2017 to November 2017.
Nadia's experience also includes a role as a Research Coordinator at Access Alliance Multicultural Health and Community Services from October 2016 to August 2017. Nadia coordinated research projects, facilitated knowledge translation, and trained client communities to take leadership roles in research and social action.
Nadia served as a Specialist in Research and Policy for Peel Newcomer Strategy Group from April 2014 to October 2016. Additionally, they worked as an ESL Teacher at ILAC in September 2014 and as a Project Coordinator for Public Legal Education (PLE) Learning Exchange at Community Legal Education Ontario from March 2013 to March 2014.
Nadia Jamil completed their Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Computing and Information Systems at Goldsmiths, University of London from 2000 to 2003. Nadia then pursued a Master of Science in Analysis, Design and Management of Information Systems at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) from 2003 to 2004. Later, in 2013 to 2014, they studied Teaching English as a Second Language at Seneca Polytechnic.
