Sue Learn

Sue Learn has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of human resources. Sue began their career as a Summer Intern at Ramada Inn Central in 1999. Sue then joined Hyatt Regency New Orleans as an HR Corporate Management Trainee and Benefits Coordinator, where they completed a nine-month rotational training program and gained valuable experience in all HR functions. Sue then joined TRC Companies, Inc. as an HR Generalist, quickly progressing to the lead HR Generalist role. Sue acted as a primary contact for employees, collaborated with senior management, and played a key role in the integration process with the parent company. In 2006, Sue joined AVL Digital Group | CD Baby | Disc Makers | BookBaby | HostBaby as a Human Resources Generalist, where they handled fast-paced recruiting and supported employees and management with employee relations, benefits, and recruitment efforts. Sue was later promoted to HR Manager and then HR Director, providing mentorship to entry-level HR personnel. Sue's most recent position is as the Vice President of Human Resources at DIY Media Group, where they lead the HR department.

Sue Learn, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, holds a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management with a Spanish Minor from Virginia Tech - Pamplin College of Business. Sue also completed Pre-Nursing Studies at Camden County College and graduated from Shawnee High School with a diploma. Sue earned the Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification from the HR Certification Institute - HRCI in 2007 and the SHRM-SCP certification from the SHRM in 2015.
