Liz Curry

Liz Curry has extensive work experience in various roles related to data management, information governance, and GDPR compliance. Liz started their career at the National Theatre as part of the Marketing/Communications team from 1984 to 1994. Liz then joined Comic Relief, where they worked as a Business Process Manager from 2015 to 2018 and as a CRM Manager from 1995 to 2015. In these roles, they focused on customer retention, attraction, and loyalty. Liz's experience in the nonprofit sector continued as they became a GDPR Consultant and the Information Governance and GDPR Strategic Lead at Barnardo's from 2018 to 2019. Liz also served as a Member of the Responsible Marketing Committee at DMA UK and as a Data Council member at The Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing (IDM) in 2016 and 2013, respectively. Subsequently, Liz worked as the Interim Head of Data Compliance at Marie Curie UK from 2020 to 2021. Liz then transitioned to We Are Family Adoption, where they worked as a Data Protection & Information Governance Consultant from March 2021 to September 2021. Liz has recently joined Wood Green, The Animals Charity as the Data Protection Officer starting from May 2019. Additionally, they have been involved with Be the Business since September 2019 as an Information Governance & GDPR Consultant. Throughout their career, Liz Curry has developed a comprehensive understanding of data management and has contributed to various organizations in implementing effective data protection and information governance practices.

Liz Curry completed their BA in Social Sciences from the University of Hertfordshire from 1981 to 1984. Prior to that, they attended St Margaret's School in Exeter between 1973 and 1980, but there is no information about any degrees or fields of study obtained during that time. In 2013, Liz obtained a certification in PRINCE2.
