Dermot Harnett has a long and varied work experience. Dermot began their career in 2003 as the Sr Security Response Team Lead at Brightmail, Inc. Dermot then moved to Symantec in 2006, where they held the roles of Chief Product Owner Email Security, Director Of Development, and Principal Customer Security Response Analyst. In 2019, they joined Proofpoint as Group Product Manager. Most recently, in 2023, they became Director of EU Headquarters at dmarcian.
Dermot Harnett has a long and varied educational history. Dermot obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) from Dublin City University in 2002, majoring in Electronic Engineering. From 2005 to 2006, they attended the Dublin Business School, where they earned a Diploma in Management Studies. In 2010 and 2011, they attended Stanford University, where they earned an Advanced Project Management Certificate. Most recently, they are currently attending Dublin City University, where they are working towards a Master of Arts (MA) in Data Protection and Privacy Law (MDPP). Additionally, they hold a Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) from the Scrum Alliance.
