Nzubé (Zu) Ekpunobi, MD has a diverse work experience that spans from medical roles to usability consulting and political contracts. Nzubé (Zu) currently serves as the Chief Resident Physician at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital. Nzubé (Zu) previously held positions as a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and as a Resident Physician specialized in internal medicine at Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Ekpunobi also has experience as a Director of Usability Consulting at Nobis Usability, where they worked with notable clients such as Google, Microsoft, and Epocrates. Additionally, they have served as a Deputy Returning Officer for a political contract and as the President and Founder of CarMHI, a mental health initiative. Nzubé (Zu) has also worked as a Telehealth Patient Assistant at Shoppers Drug Mart Specialty Health Network and has held roles in marketing and recruitment at the University of Medicine and Health Sciences. In 2015, they pursued a Certificate in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Later, they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from the University of Medicine and Health Sciences in 2021.

Moreover, Nzubé (Zu) Ekpunobi, MD obtained several additional certifications. In January 2021, they received the ICH-GCP E6 (R2) - Good Clinical Practice certification from The Global Health Network. In May 2020, they completed the McGill Personal Finance Essentials certification from McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management. They also obtained the Psychological First Aid certification from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in June 2015.

In March 2023, Nzubé (Zu) Ekpunobi, MD obtained two certifications related to emergency medical procedures.
