Phil Thompson

Phil Thompson is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in risk engineering and transportation consulting. Currently serving as the Risk Engineering Manager at DMC Insurance, Inc. since July 2019, Phil focuses on assisting transportation companies in achieving best-in-class status. Prior roles include Independent Business Owner at PBT Consulting LLC and Transportation Consultant, where emphasis was placed on maximizing efficiencies and optimizing costs. Phil also held managerial positions at Celadon Group Inc. and Con-Way Freight, overseeing dedicated and expedited services, as well as service center operations, with responsibilities including P&L management, employee engagement, and operational effectiveness. Phil has a BS in Business Management from Indiana Wesleyan University and has a rich history with UPS, spanning from 1979 to 2008, in various operational roles.
