Objective:

DN Tanks is hiring our first Preconstruction Manager to support our growing business in the Mountain Region!

As a Preconstruction Manager, you will work collaboratively with our Sales and Estimating teams to develop well specified and budgeted opportunities, while simultaneously developing strong relationships with general contractors and subcontractors to place DN Tanks in the best possible position for success.

We are looking for a candidate with a proven track record of success in the construction industry, especially in heavy-civil construction. This is a great opportunity for a candidate ready to make an impact with a world-class team working on meaningful construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the development of sales strategy to mobilize bids alongside the Regional Manager (RM)
  • Foster and develop strong relationships with contractors and act as a liaison between clients and internal stakeholders
  • Facilitate estimating requests pertaining to site layout and section view drawings, quantity take-offs, project schedules, and budgetary estimates for sitework.
  • Utilize analytical skills to identify discrepancies within documents pertaining to a project plan, and compare actual pricing to budget estimates.
  • Visit job sites to assist in the development of project specific information and budgeted opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Estimator to determine performance capabilities of meeting project schedule requirements using prequalification information from subcontractors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or other technical field such as Construction Management.
  • 3 - 5 years of professional experience preferably in the municipal, consulting or construction related industry.
  • Proficiency with MS Office, estimating programs, scheduling, Bluebeam and AutoCAD software preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with a range of partners, managers, and subject matter experts.
