Christopher Icely has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Christopher is currently working as a Researcher at Biotic.io, where they are developing a high throughput, high resolution, single cell plate reader with applications in biologics production, iPSC characterization, CAR T cell production, and targeted drug discovery. Prior to this, Christopher worked as a Software Engineering Consultant at DNANUDGE, where they played a key role in developing and demonstrating the use of DNA Nudge's platform for the detection of Covid-19, resulting in a major NHS contract. Christopher also has experience as a Software Engineer and Electronic Engineer at DNA Electronics, where they developed diagnostic algorithms using Bayesian inference, Monte-Carlo Markov Chain simulation, and machine learning techniques. Christopher's earlier roles include Biomedical/Electronic Engineer & Designer at Chiaro Technology Ltd., where they oversaw the electronic design and development of consumer electronics, and Data Capturer / Systems Automation at Tribrach Consulting, where they collected and sorted remuneration policies for top companies in South Africa. Christopher also worked as an Intern at DNA Electronics, where they worked as a data analyst and improved existing systems.
Christopher Icely pursued their higher education in a chronological manner. From 2008 to 2010, they attended the University of the Witwatersrand, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSc ENG) with a focus on Biomedical Engineering. Following this, they enrolled at the University of Cape Town for the period of 2011 to 2012, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical Engineering. In 2013, Christopher attended Alliance Française, earning a DELF/DALF Diploma in French - Level A1, specializing in French Studies. Additionally, they acquired a certification in Machine Learning from Coursera in May 2014.
