Paul Hadjiyane

General Counsel to the Inspector General at Department of Defense Office of Inspector General

Mr. Paul Hadjiyane is the General Counsel to the Department of Defense Inspector General. Mr. Hadjiyane provides legal counsel and services to the Inspector General and his senior staff. He supervises seventeen attorneys who provide advice and guidance to over 1600 members of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) stationed worldwide, including auditors, evaluators, and criminal investigators (Defense Criminal Investigative Service). Mr. Hadjiyane also supervises the OIG Subpoena Program, Ethics Program (as the Designated Agency Ethics Official) and Freedom of Information Act Office. Mr. Hadjiyane was appointed to the Senior Executive Service on July, 7, 2019.

Mr. Hadjiyane joined the OIG in August 2012, serving since that time in positions of greater responsibility supervising the administration of legal services in support of audits, evaluations, investigations, and OIG policy development. Prior to joining the OIG, Mr. Hadjiyane served for twenty years with Defense Agencies supporting domestic, international, and contingency-based contract administration services. He also served on active duty as an Army Judge Advocate, with tours of duty in Germany and at the Army’s Legal Center in Charlottesville, VA.

Mr. Hadjiyane earned his Bachelor of Science and Juris Doctor degrees from St. John’s University, New York. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York.
