Faruk Tuğrul

Faruk Tuğrul has extensive experience in the field of cyber security. Faruk started their career in 2019 as a Senior Cyber Security Specialist at Doğuş Teknoloji, where they conducted investigations into active threats, collected technical information, and performed root cause analysis for security incidents. Faruk also designed, planned, installed, and maintained detection infrastructure with various security technologies such as SIEM, DAM, SOAR, Deception, and NDR. Faruk was responsible for creating and fine-tuning custom security detection use cases and reports, implementing the MITRE ATT&CK Framework, and developing incident response procedures and automations. Faruk actively managed and participated in 24x7 SOC operations, training and mentoring SOC analysts, and enhancing the overall expertise of the SOC.

Prior to their role as a Senior Cyber Security Specialist, Faruk worked as a Cyber Security Specialist at the same company from June 2020 to October 2022. Before that, they gained practical experience as a Cyber Security Intern at Doğuş Teknoloji from July 2019 to June 2020.

During their career, Faruk also had international work experience at Gold Arrow Camp. Faruk participated in the Work and Travel program in 2018 and 2017, spending the summers working at the camp.

Faruk Tuğrul earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Istanbul Technical University, where they studied from 2015 to 2020. Following this, they pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Business Administration and Management from Istanbul University, starting in 2022 and expected to complete in 2024. Prior to their university education, Faruk obtained their High School Diploma from Nigde Anatolian Teacher High School, which they attended from 2011 to 2015. In terms of certifications, Faruk has obtained several, including the IBM Certified Associate Analyst - IBM QRadar SIEM V7.3.2 from IBM in October 2021, the Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals from Microsoft in April 2021, the Cyber Security 101 from Turkcell in April 2019, the Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate from Microsoft in June 2022, and the Microsoft 365 Certified: Security Administrator Associate from Microsoft in March 2021.
