Matt Tabers

Director of Marketing, Channel Innovation at Dollar General

Matt Tabers is a seasoned marketing professional with extensive experience in brand strategy and retail marketing. Currently serving as the Head of Marketing and Director of Marketing for pOpshelf® at Dollar General since 2020, Matt led the development of the inaugural marketing strategy for the brand within a four-month timeframe. Additional roles include executive member positions in the Retail Measurement Council at Google and the Product Council at Oracle. Previous experience includes co-leading a Global Business Accelerator at the Virginia Economic Development Partnership, directing brand marketing and strategy at Play & Co.®, and managing global brands at Spin Master Corporation. Matt’s early career involved various strategic roles in marketing at The J.M. Smucker Company and Mars Petcare US. Educational credentials include an MBA from William & Mary and a BS in International Business from Tennessee Technological University.
