Ahmad Salehi

Director, Research Program at Donor Network West

Ahmad Salehi is the current Director of Research Program at Donor Network West. Ahmad has also worked as a Staff Scientist and Director Neurobehavioral Core at The J. David Gladstone Institutes, and before that, at California State University, East Bay. At The J. David Gladstone Institutes, Salehi completed behavioral studies for nonprofit and for-profit organizations using mouse models for Alzheimer’s, Frontotemporal dementia, Parkinson’s disease, and Traumatic brain injury. Ahmad was also in charge of developing and submitting animal protocols, and led 3 core research technologists on behavioral testing and other experimental activities. Ahmad provided training and guidance to undergraduates, graduate students, post-docs, and faculty members to perform behavioral tests and data collection by established procedures. Salehi has also worked closely with 3 pharmaceutical companies to effectively execute brain exposure and preclinical behavioral efficacy studies using small molecules and antibodies in J20 Alzheimer’s mouse model. Lastly, they collaborated with 20+ academic investigators to achieve on-time, within budget execution of 200+ behavioral projects in neurobehavioral core lab that resulted in publications across high-impact factor journals.

Ahmad Salehi has a Ph.D. in Psychopharmacology from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences. Ahmad also has an MPhil in Biochemistry from Annamalai University, and an MSc in Biochemistry from Annamalai University. Ahmad has a BSc in Biochemistry from Bharathiar University.
