Kristie Jones

Kristie Jones teaches construction technology at Franklin County Career and Technical Center in Meadville, Mississippi. After twenty-two years of teaching special education and science, Kristie combined her love of woodworking and teaching and reinstituted the construction and carpentry program in her school district.

Kristie graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with honors in 1998 earning a Bachelor of Science degree in special education. She furthered her education in 2005, graduating with highest honors from Alcorn State University with a Master of Science, concentrating in special education. In 2009, Kristie’s peers elected her Teacher of the Year for the Franklin County School District. Currently, Kristie is serving on Lieutenant Governor Delbert Hoseman’s Mississippi Teacher Advisory Council to represent and advocate for teachers across the state of Mississippi. She is also an active member of her community through mission work with her church and the Franklin County Baptist Association.
