Shiofra O'Toole Jey has a long work experience spanning over 10 years. In 2021, they began working as a Product Manager and Product Owner at dopay. From 2017-2018, they worked at First Derivatives as a Regional Lead (Calypso Financial Services - London), Financial Services Consultant, and Capital Markets Training Programme. During this same time period, they also worked at LCH as a Team Lead: Calypso Production Support and Production Support Engineer. In 2016, they worked as an Investment Analyst at Trinity SMF Alumni. From 2015-2016, they were a Finance and Marketing Analyst at Skyline Events / Doitforcharity, and a Research Assistant at Dail Eireann 2011. Finally, from 2011-2010, they were an Irish Representative and Alumni Officer at European Youth Parliament Ireland, and an Elected Representative at Donegal Youth Council.

Shiofra O'Toole Jey attended Trinity College Dublin from 2013 to 2017, where they obtained a degree in Political Science, Philosophy, Economics and Sociology (PPES). Her field of study was Political Science and Economics. Additionally, they have obtained two certifications from the Professional Risk Managers' International Association (PRMIA). Shiofra obtained their PRMIA IV certification in January 2019 and their PRMIA II certification in October 2018.
