Asha Balakrishnan

Asha Balakrishnan is an experienced surgeon currently serving at Dougherty Laser Vision since December 2018, providing care to multiple locations including Beverly Hills and Camarillo. Prior to this role, Asha worked as an ophthalmologist at Colvard Eye Center, specializing in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery. Asha also held the position of Director of Cornea & Refractive Surgery Service at the University of Louisville, where Asha launched a femtosecond cataract surgery program. Asha completed a fellowship in cataract, cornea, anterior segment, and refractive surgery at Baylor College of Medicine and underwent ophthalmology residency at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center. Asha's medical education includes a Doctor of Medicine degree from Washington University School of Medicine and a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Harvard University.
