Amy Hanley has an extensive legal career with a focus on both judicial and educational roles. Since December 2016, Amy serves as a District Court Judge for Douglas County Kansas. Concurrently, Amy has been the Program Director and Instructor at the National Institute for Trial Advocacy since October 2011 and an Adjunct Professor at Washburn University School of Law since June 2009. Prior to these roles, Amy worked as an Assistant Attorney General and Criminal Prosecution Section Lead at the Kansas Attorney General's Office from June 2009 to December 2016, and co-founded the National District Attorney Association Women Prosecutors Section, serving as Vice Chair from July 2014 to October 2016. Amy's career began as the First Assistant Saline County Attorney at the Saline County Attorney's Office, working there from August 2002 to June 2009. Educationally, Amy holds a J.D. from Drake University Law School and has also attended Kansas State University.
