Monica Henderson

Monica Henderson has a diverse range of work experience in the field of special education. Monica has held various roles, including Assistant Director of Special Education at Douglas County School System, Program Specialist at the Georgia Department of Education, Special Education Coordinator at Carrollton City Schools, Program Specialist at Fulton County Schools, and Interrelated Teacher at DeKalb County Schools. Monica has also worked as a Media Planner at BBDO. Throughout their career, Monica has demonstrated their expertise in providing leadership, supervision, and consultation to school-based administrators, as well as developing and implementing specialized instruction programs for students with disabilities. Monica is knowledgeable about federal regulations and state guidelines, and has extensive experience in attending IEP meetings and ensuring compliance with special education records. Monica has also coordinated and evaluated compliance operations, planned and delivered professional learning activities, and conducted educational assessments for students. Monica'swork experience spans from 2001 to the present, with a consistent focus on supporting the needs and learning outcomes of individuals with exceptional needs.

Monica Henderson pursued their education at the University of West Georgia, starting in 1996 and completing their Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing in 2001. Monica went on to further their studies at the same university, earning a Master's degree in Special Education from 2011 to 2012. Monica continued their pursuit of knowledge by obtaining an Education Specialist degree in Educational Leadership and Administration, General, from the University of West Georgia from 2015 to 2017. In addition to their degrees, Monica also holds a certification as a Certified Special Educator, which they obtained from the Georgia Professional Standards Commission in June 2012.
