Kevin Duffy

Support Services Bureau Chief at Douglas County Sheriff's Office

Chief Duffy is a proud native of Colorado. Kevin attended public schools in Jefferson County and graduated from Lakewood, Sr High School. He attended the University of Southern Colorado on a Football Kevin DuffyScholarship. Kevin married his high school sweetheart and they have been married for 42-years. Kevin moved his family to Douglas County in 1994, where he and his wife raised their two children who both graduated from Douglas County High School.

Kevin began his law enforcement career with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office in 1989 and has been a proud member of DCSO for almost 32-years. Kevin has served in all three of the major divisions. He served in the Patrol Division in various ranks, Deputy, Corporal, Sergeant, and Lieutenant where he worked on/off in Patrol for eight years. Kevin six years in the Detention Division as a Lieutenant for 2-years and came back in 2014 as the Captain of Detentions, where he served 4-years.

Kevin spent much of his law enforcement career working in the Investigation Division and has served in various special assignments and ranks to include, Investigator, Detective, Sergeant, Lieutenant and recently served two years as the Captain / Investigation Division Commander. Kevin has been assigned to numerous special assignments to include the School Resource Officer, Juvenile Street Gang Investigator, Person Crime Detective, South Metro Drug Task Force Sergeant, Sergeant of the Patter Crime Unit, Administrative Lieutenant for both Detentions and Patrol. Kevin was recently promoted to Chief Deputy of the Law Enforcement Bureau where he excited for the new challenges and his primary goal is always service to the community, or citizens, and the men and women of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office

Kevin’s passion has always been to serve and work with youth. He is the Chairman of the Board for the Juvenile Assessment Center, a non-profit serving the youth, families and community of the 18th Judicial District. He is also the Co-Chair of the Collaborative Management Program for Douglas County through the Dept. of Human Services. He also serves on the Douglas County Mental Health Initiative and Steering Committee and recently completed serving on the Behavioral Health Task Force, Safety Net Sub-committee.

Kevin attended the University of Southern Colorado on a football scholarship. He’s a graduate of the DEA Drug Unit Commanders Academy, Colorado Sheriffs’ Association Command School, Northwestern University Police and Command School, and Leadership Douglas County.
