Mike Dirlam, PE, PMP has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mike currently holds the position of Vice President of Engineering at Douglas Dynamics, Inc. starting from October 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Whirlpool Corporation for many years in various roles. From 2019 to 2022, they served as the Product Development Excellence Director. Before that, they held the position of Project Director for Vertical Axis Laundry from 2016 to 2019, and as Project Director for Product Development Excellence from 2015 to 2016. Furthermore, they led the Refrigeration project from 2013 to 2015, aiming to establish a product leadership position in the French Door Bottom Mount Segment. Mike also served as the PDE Director for KitchenAid Small Appliances from 2011 to 2013, and as the Global Technical Leader from 2008 to 2010. Additionally, they had a long tenure at Whirlpool Corporation starting in 1994, where they started as an entry-level Engineer and eventually became an Engineering Manager. Mike was responsible for various aspects of engineering and project planning during their time there.
Mike Dirlam, PE, PMP obtained their Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Toledo in 1994. Mike later pursued a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Michigan-Flint, completing it between 2004 and 2006. In 2014, they obtained the Professional Engineer certification from the State of Michigan. Additionally, they hold the Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. Mike Dirlam also has additional certifications as a Six Sigma Blackbelt from Six Sigma & Associates.
