Dr. Prouty received her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992 followed by her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1998. She then completed her Small Animal Rotating Internship at Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. She worked in general practice in the state of Washington for the following 3 years then went on to complete residency training at the Veterinary Neurological Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since 2005, she has established herself as a skilled and dedicated specialist in Portland, Oregon.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Prouty and her spouse, Kris, are raising two teenagers and a bundle of rescue animals, including Piper, a greyhound/border collie mix, Ruth, a Staffordshire/Heeler mix, Olive, a chihuahua mix, and Sage, a loving tortoiseshell medium-haired cat. Together, they love hammock camping, kayaking, and road trips to explore the region and any antique or second-hand shops. And when they’re done exploring, a game of cribbage or Euchre—a nod to Dr. Prouty’s midwestern roots—is always an option.
