Lucy Denton

Head of Design at Dovetail

Lucy Denton is currently the Head of Design at Dovetail. Prior to this, they were a Senior Designer at Atlassian from January 2015 to February 2020. In this role, they were part of the leadership group that made strategic decisions regarding the Ecosystem business unit. Lucy also led a user-centered design process for multiple projects involving the entire multidisciplinary team, from exploratory research during discovery to contributing to ideation and giving feedback during iteration, as well as being involved in user testing.

Denton established an Ecosystem design team culture to foster collaboration and leverage everyone’s contributions. Lucy led team rituals such as sparring, team planning, design pairing sessions and weekly team coffee catchups.

Before their time at Atlassian, Denton held the position of Product Coordinator at Westpac from February 2014 to July 2014 as part of a cooperative scholarship placement. From July 2012 to November 2013, they worked as an Analyst at Deloitte. Additionally, they have experience as a HSC Design & Technology tutor at St Gregory's High School from April 2012 to October 2012.

Lucy Denton completed a Bachelor of Information Technology at the University of Technology Sydney on a Co-op Scholarship Program. Lucy then did an exchange program to Télécom Paris for their Bachelor of Information Technology. Lucy also attended the Girls Porgramming Network at Sydney University and the NCSS (National Computer Science School). For their High School Certificate, they went to MLC School Sydney.

They work with Sean Bruce - Marketing Manager, Cheri March - GTM Enablement Manager, and Chris Manouvrier - Principal Engineer. Jodie Clothier - Product Designer, Bec Lourey - Senior Product Designer, and Anna Nguyen - Design Researcher report to Lucy Denton. Lucy Denton reports to Benjamin Humphrey, CEO & Co-founder.
