Emma V. O’Brian

Emma V. O’Brian is the senior vice president of strategic initiatives at Dow Jones and chief of staff to the CEO. Emma is responsible for developing business priorities and ensuring executive and corporate alignment across the Dow Jones portfolio.

Previously, Emma was global head of product strategy for Bloomberg News with a focus on the terminal audience, sitting at the intersection of editorial, product and sales. She played a leading role in developing strategy and overseeing business plan priorities for newsroom technology, breaking news and markets, and the newsroom of the future. A third generation journalist, Emma has held strategic roles across editorial, communications and operations on all platforms from cable news and radio to magazines and print/web.
