Rui Vogt Alves da Cruz

Rui Vogt Alves da Cruz serves as the Vice President of Core R&D at Dow since August 2001, leading a global research and development organization focused on long-term R&D vision, including High Throughput R&D, Computational Modeling, and Sustainability. Previously held roles include Senior Regional R&D Director for Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Senior R&D Director for Industrial Solutions, overseeing products and technologies for various sectors. Rui has extensive experience in oil and gas exploration and production, product development, and process optimization across multiple industries, with an educational background that includes a PhD from Universidade de São Paulo in CO2 capture modeling, along with degrees in chemical engineering and extensive international language training.
