Director Accounting at Doxim

Maria P. has a diverse range of work experience in accounting and finance. Maria currently works as the Director of Accounting at Doxim, starting in 2022. Prior to this role, they worked as an Interim Controller at Doxim in 2022.

Before joining Doxim, Maria held the position of Interim Director of Special Projects - Finance at Flipp in 2021. At Flipp, they were responsible for working with large retailers and manufacturers to transform their business through a digital shopping marketplace, reporting to the CFO.

From 2019 to 2020, Maria served as the CFO at Fresh City Farms, Inc. Here, they led the delivery of farm-fresh, local, organic produce bags and meals, as well as the acquisition of Mabel's Bakery and The Healthy Butcher. Maria reported directly to the Founder and CEO.

Prior to Fresh City Farms, Maria worked at Hays from 2016 to 2019 as the Financial Controller for Canada. Hays is a recruitment agency offering permanent, temporary, and contract services. Maria reported to the Director of Finance - Canada.

In 2016, Maria also held the role of Director of Accounting at KUBRA, a subsidiary of Hearst Corporation. KUBRA develops customer experience management software solutions for utility, insurance, and government entities.

Maria's earlier experience includes roles at Numeris, where they served as the Accounting Manager from 2007 to 2016, and at KCI Medical Canada, Inc., where they held various positions including Accounting and Financial Reporting Manager, Senior Financial Analyst, and Junior Financial Analyst.

Maria began their career in 1998 as a Junior Accountant at Westpro Machinery Inc., where they handled bookkeeping functions and assisted in sourcing vendors.

Overall, Maria P. has demonstrated expertise in accounting and finance across various industries, working in both leadership and interim roles.

Maria P. started their educational journey by attending the University of Toronto Mississauga from 1996 to 2000, where they obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) degree. Following their undergraduate studies, Maria pursued a Strategic Leadership Program at CMA Ontario from 2000 to 2002. In 2014, they attended the CMA Ontario Professional Development Institute and received a Master Controller Certificate. Maria also engaged in additional educational programs at the University of Toronto School of Continuing Studies, specializing in Auditing in 2010 and Project Implementation and Control in 2008. In terms of international experience, they participated in the Leadership program at the KCI Leadership Academy in the Netherlands in 2003. In 2018, Maria completed a Certificate of Completion in IFRS - Review of the Standards at CPA Ontario, and most recently, in 2021, they earned another Certificate of Completion in Accounting for Income Taxes, also at CPA Ontario.
