Michael Bentley has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Michael began their career in the hospitality industry, working as a Receptionist, Shift Leader, and Duty Manager at The Churchill Hotel from 1993 to 1996. Michael then moved on to the InterContinental Hotels Group, where they served as a Reception Manager from 1996 to 1997. Michael then joined the Halcyon Hotel as a Front Office Manager from 1997 to 1999.

In 1999, Michael transitioned into property management, taking on the role of Centre Manager at Corpnex Ltd until 2004. Michael then became the Operations Manager for notonthehighstreet.com, overseeing all property-related matters until 2005. Following this, Michael joined Executive Offices Group as the Property Operations Manager, responsible for facilities contracts across 28 buildings in London until 2013.

From 2014 to 2018, Michael held the position of Facilities & Operations Manager at notonthehighstreet.com. Michael was responsible for various tasks, including building operations, vendor management, budgeting, and health and safety compliance. Michael also oversaw the fit-out of office and meeting space.

In 2018, Michael joined MADE.COM as the Head of Facilities, overseeing workplace operations and managing contracts. In 2022, they were promoted to Head of Workplace and held the position until 2023. Currently, Michael Bentley is working as the Head of Property & Facilities Operations at Dr. Martens plc.

Michael Bentley attended Bedford School from 1983 to 1987, but did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study during that time. From 1989 to 1991, they studied at Highbury College and earned a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Hotel, Catering and Institutional Management. In terms of additional certifications, Michael obtained the CIWFM (Certified Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management) from the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management in October 2021, and the MIWFM (Member of the Institute of Workplace and Facilities Management) in May 2014.
